To improve privacy protection:

  • uploaded health-related information may be anonymized before AI processing,
  • identifying personal details may be removed or masked,
  • users may manually hide sensitive parts of uploaded screenshots,
  • internal AI systems may operate using anonymized user identifiers instead of directly identifiable personal data.

We aim to minimize exposure of personal identity during automated analysis whenever technically possible.

  • food compatibility analysis,
  • habit observations,
  • health-related educational content.

AI-generated outputs:

Nutrig is not a medical provider.

The platform:

  • does not diagnose diseases,

If you have a medical condition, allergies, or health concerns, consult a licensed healthcare professional before making significant dietary or medical changes.

6. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR / UK GDPR)

We process personal data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and, for users in the United Kingdom, the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, we process data based on:

  • your consent,
  • contractual necessity,
  • legitimate interests,
  • legal obligations.

Health-related information is processed only when explicit consent is provided.

You may withdraw consent at any time.

7. Data Sharing

We may share limited information with trusted service providers that help us operate the platform, including:

  • hosting providers,
  • analytics providers,
  • payment processors,
  • cloud infrastructure providers,
  • customer support systems,
  • AI infrastructure providers.

All providers are required to handle data securely and according to applicable privacy laws.

We do not sell user personal information.

Health Connect & Apple Health

If you choose to connect Nutrig to your device’s health platform — Health Connect on Android or Apple Health on iOS — Nutrig may, only after you grant permission:

  • read your latest body weight and today’s water intake, to personalize your targets and show your progress;
  • write the weight, water, and calories you log in Nutrig, so they stay in sync across your other health apps.

This access is triggered only by an explicit action you take and runs only while the app is in use (no background access). Health platform data is used solely to provide these features. We do not sell it, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties. You can revoke access at any time in your device’s Health Connect or Apple Health settings.

8. Payments & Subscriptions

Payments are processed by third-party providers, depending on where you subscribe:

  • Paddle.com Market Ltd (“Paddle”) — Merchant of Record for purchases made through our website;
  • Apple App Store — in-app purchases on iOS;
  • Google Play — in-app purchases on Android.

For purchases made on the web, Paddle acts as the Merchant of Record: Paddle is the seller of record for that transaction and is responsible for billing, invoicing and collecting applicable taxes. Subscriptions purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play are additionally governed by the respective store’s terms and are managed and cancelled through your store account.

For information on refunds and cancellations, see our Refund Policy.

We do not store full payment card information on our servers.

Payment providers may process billing-related data according to their own privacy policies.

9. Data Retention

We retain information only as long as necessary to:

  • provide services,
  • comply with legal obligations,
  • resolve disputes,
  • maintain platform security.

Users may request deletion of their account and associated personal data, subject to legal or operational retention requirements.

10. Security

We use commercially reasonable safeguards to protect user information, including:

  • encryption in transit,
  • access controls,
  • authentication systems,
  • secure infrastructure,
  • monitoring and logging,
  • anonymization approaches where applicable.

However, no system can guarantee absolute security.

11. International Data Transfers

Your information may be processed in countries outside your country of residence, including the United States (for example, by our AI and infrastructure providers).

Where we transfer personal data out of the EEA or the United Kingdom, we rely on appropriate safeguards — such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and, for the UK, the UK International Data Transfer Addendum (IDTA) — or another lawful transfer mechanism.

12. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • access your data,
  • correct inaccurate information,
  • delete your data,
  • restrict processing,
  • object to processing,
  • withdraw consent,
  • request portability of your data.

To exercise these rights, contact us using the information below.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. In the United Kingdom this is the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO, ico.org.uk); in the EEA it is the authority in your country of residence.

13. Children’s Privacy

Nutrig is not intended for children under the age required by applicable local law without parental consent.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children where prohibited.

14. Cookies & Analytics

When you first visit Nutrig, a cookie consent banner is displayed. You choose one of two options:

Essential cookies (always active)

These are required for the service to function and cannot be disabled:

  • Authentication token — stored in localStorage to keep you signed in.
  • Language preference — stored in a cookie (NEXT_LOCALE) to remember your chosen language.
  • Cookie consent choice — stored in localStorage (nutrig_cookie_consent) so we don't ask again.

No essential cookies are shared with third parties.

Analytics cookies (optional, requires consent)

If you click “Accept all”, we load Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how users interact with the service. Google Analytics collects:

  • pages visited and navigation paths,
  • approximate geographic location (country/city level),
  • device type and browser,
  • session duration and engagement events.

Google Analytics does not receive your name, email, health data, or any personally identifiable information beyond what the GA4 anonymization settings permit. IP addresses are anonymized before storage.

If you click “Essential only”, Google Analytics is not loaded — no analytics scripts or cookies are placed in your browser.

How to change your cookie choice

You can change your preference at any time by clearing your browser’s localStorage for nutrig.app (browser settings → Storage / Site data). The consent banner will reappear on your next visit.

You may also opt out of Google Analytics globally using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

15. Third-Party Services

The platform may contain links or integrations with third-party services.

We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party websites, applications, or services.

16. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically.

If significant changes are made, we may notify users through:

  • the application,
  • email,
  • website notices.

Continued use of the service after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

17. Contact

18. Summary

Our goal is to:

  • provide personalized nutrition tools,

  • use AI responsibly,
  • give users transparency and control over their data.

We believe privacy and personalization should work together — not against each other.
